About the Workshop
NOVAFRICA, a knowledge centre based at the Nova School of Business and Economics of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, is organizing a workshop on migration and development for PhD Candidates, Post-Docs, and junior researchers. The workshop will bring together scholars working on the economics of migration in the development context. It aims at giving participants an opportunity to present their papers in an informal environment, as well as to exchange the results of recent and ongoing research in different sub-fields of development economics.
The Workshop will take place before the 2019 NOVAFRICA Conference on Economic Development in Africa which will cover the broad theme of economic development in Africa. This year’s conference keynote speakers will be Paul Collier (Oxford), Gerard Padro-i-Miguel (Yale), Tavneet Suri (MIT), and Leonard Wantchekon (Princeton).
