**BHS National Symposium rescheduled to Sep 2021**
The 14th British Hydrological Society National Symposium, BHS2021, will take place over three days provisionally from Tuesday 7th to Thursday 9th September 2021. The symposium to be located at Lancaster University (George Fox Building) will include field visits, demonstrations and talks in the Lake District (Cumbria).
The symposium will consist of a series of networking events and sessions organised in five themes across the three days. These themes will be:
- Future hydrology
- Ecohydrology & water quality

We welcome your contribution (or contributions) in the form of an oral presentation, poster presentation (with or without short oral summary), computer demonstration or other interactive activities or demonstrations. BHS2021 is now OPEN for submission of individual contributions.

This links to an online form where you may paste the title and summary of your proposed presentation together with your preferred session within one of the themes etc. You will receive an automated email to confirm your submission. We will inform you of the acceptance status of this submission shortly after the closing date that has been moved into 2021 (date to be confirmed). You are welcome to submit multiple contributions, but please submit each separately by reconnecting to the same link on this BHS2021 web page.

You can view the proposed BHS2021 sessions. The short summaries of the proposed sessions are to help you decide which session would be most appropriate for your proposed submission. Do not worry if your individual contribution does not exactly fit one of the proposed sessions - we will modify the final sessions to reflect the individual contributions received.

Registration for the 14th British Hydrological Society National Symposium, BHS2021, will re-open in late 2020 or early 2021. Registration and associated payment will be via credit card on a dedicated webpage of the secure Lancaster University Online Store:
There will be are reduced cost Early Bird Registration fees for payments, with three fee categories: Student/retired/early-career BHS member, ordinary BHS member, and non-member. Preferential daily rates apply to those attending all three symposium days.
The Early Bird Registration conference fees are likely to to be similar to those set in 2020, namely:
- The subsidised conference fee for 3-days attendance for BHS members that are either full-time students, early career staff or retired is £111 for 3 days.
- The preferential conference fee for 3-days attendance for ordinary BHS members is £146 for 3 days.
- The preferential conference fee for 3-days attendance for non-members is £180 for 3 days
- If you wish to attend the campus-only days, for full-time students, early career staff and retired members the fee is £64 per day; for ordinary BHS members the fee is £75 per day and for non-members £94 per day. Attendance on the field-visit day is only possible for those registering for 3-days.
Late Booking Registration fee
We are able to receive late bookings for attendance at the days wholly based on the university campus. The late booking fee all BHS members or non-members is likely to remain at £113 per day.
Before entering the registration/payment system - please note: If you are requesting a reduced fee for being an ordinary BHS member, you will need to find your BHS membership number to input as you pay. If you are a full-time student BHS member you will also need to input your academic institution. If you are in the first three years of your career (early career BHS member) you will also need to input details of your employer. If you would like the discretionary rate for a retired BHS member you will also need to input the year that you retired.

The BHS annual subscription fee is £30, with concessionary rates available.
Registration includes the costs of the venue hire at Lancaster University, BHS2021 paperwork, Wi-Fi access, parking, refreshments during the sessions, and (for those registering for 3-days in the Early Bird period) coach transport from the LU campus to visit locations in Cumbria. En suite accommodation (with breakfast), group evening meal on Tuesday 6th and BHS2021 Dinner on 8th are booked separately (see below).
Book your campus B&B, evening meals and BHS2021 Dinner
Dedicated BHS2021 bed and breakfast accommodation will be available for symposium attendees and guests on the Lancaster University campus at an economical rate. You may select B&B accommodation for 1 to 4 nights from the evening of Monday 6th September to the morning of Friday 10th September 2021. Registered participants (and their guests) may book an evening meal with other BHS2021 participants for the evening of Tuesday 7th September 2021. The BHS2021 Dinner will take place on the evening Wednesday 8th September 2021. Guests of registered participants most welcome.
We will update registered participants and those with B&B bookings with further information.
As a service to the symposium participants, we will have dedicated spaces for exhibitors at BHS2021. If you are a consultancy firm, equipment supplier, publisher or another type of institution (e.g., university, environmental charity) we can provide table space and space for self-supporting posters. There will be no charge to exhibitors for this space, but the individual exhibitor will need to register for the 3 days of BHS2021 (see above).
