The first conference on the economic impact of robots and automation will take place on October 13/14, 2022, at Goethe University Frankfurt am Main, Germany, in cooperation with the International Federation of Robotics (IFR). This conference aims to establish a platform for all economists working in the quickly growing field of robots, automation, and artificial intelligence. We also wish to provide a forum for discussion between data users and the main data provider in this field.

A keynote speech will be held by Philippe Aghion (College de France, Harvard, and LSE).

Researchers from all fields of economics are invited to present new research results and discuss possible directions for future research activities. We welcome the submission of papers with an empirical, theoretical, and/or policy orientation focusing on micro- or macroeconomic aspects of robots, automation, and artificial intelligence.

Please submit (in pdf format) an extended abstract of your paper (approx. 800 words) or the complete paper along with a cover letter including paper title, name(s) of the author(s), affiliation as well as the email address of the presenting author to cora@wiwi.uni-frankfurt.de.

Submission deadline is June 1st, 2022. Accepted authors will be notified by July 1st, and completed papers are expected no later than September 1st, 2022.

Registration for participation for presenting attendees is September 1st, 2022. By that day, a participation fee of โ‚ฌ200 will be due. It includes workshop material, food and beverages during the workshop, and a dinner. Furthermore, please notice that it is possible to attend the conference without presenting a paper. Enquiries for non-presenting attendees should be sent to cora@wiwi.uni-frankfurt.de no later than August 1st, 2022.
