University of Coimbra

The University of Coimbra (UC) was established in 1290 as a public academic institution in Coimbra, Portugal. UC is one of the oldest universities in the world and is also the oldest academic institution in the country. UC is organized into eight specialized faculties which offer undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral degrees in mathematics, natural sciences, humanities, sports, technologies, and engineering. More than 20,000 students Portuguese and international students attend the prestigious university, which has become part of the UNESCO World Heritage List in recent years.
