The Department of Economics at the University of Girona (UdG) is pleased to announce a workshop on the causal impact of nutritional programmes targeted to children, with a particular emphasis on school meals in developed economies.

This call for papers invites both experienced and early-career researchers to submit their work on various aspects of school-meal programmes. We encourage contributions that explore the impact of these programmes on child development, including health outcomes, human capital formation, behaviour and other related areas.

The workshop will take place on September 19-20, 2024 at the University of Girona (Sala de Graus de la Facultat de Lletres, Plaça Josep Ferrater i Mora 1, 17004, Girona).

We would like to invite you to submit a paper or an extended abstract with main results by sending an email to sara.ayllon@udg.edu. Please indicate in the subject “School-meal workshop”. Deadline for submissions, 30 of June 2024.

Meals will be provided by the organization during the workshop but we are not able to provide accommodation or travel support to speakers.

Keynote speakers

- Birgitta Rabe (Professor at the Institute for Social and Economic Research, University of Essex).
- Krista Ruffini (Assistant Professor at McCourt School of Public Policy, Georgetown University).

This workshop is funded by the Social Research Call 2022 of `La Caixa' Foundation (project number LCF/PR/SR22/52570007).
