Oguzhan Dincer
We invite paper proposals on any topic related to corruption to a two day workshop jointly organized by the Murphy Institute (Tulane University) and the Institute for Corruption Studies (Illinois State University). Participants will receive a stipend to cover their travel and accommodation expenses ($3000 for domestic and $3500 for international participants). Those interested in participating should send an extended abstract (up to 2000 words) to Oguzhan Dincer at odincer@ilstu.edu, no later than February1, 2023. Acceptance decisions will be made by March 1, 2023.
We invite paper proposals on any topic related to corruption to a two day workshop jointly organized by the Murphy Institute (Tulane University) and the Institute for Corruption Studies (Illinois State University). As the workshop intends to build a network of researchers who work on corruption, papers from all social science and legal disciplines are invited. Papers investigating the following issues (but not limited to) with a comparative and/or historical focus will be particularly welcome:
- Measuring corruption
- Corruption and growth
- Corruption, income inequality, and poverty
- Corruption and budget deficit/public debt
- Corruption and racial inequities
- Corruption and environmental degradation
- Corruption and health
- Fiscal/political decentralization and corruption
- Regulations and corruption
- Voter participation and corruption
Workshop papers will contribute to a special issue of Southern Economic Journal (details to come).
