European Central Bank

The European Central Bank (ECB) is the central bank of the 19 EU Member States that have adopted the euro. Our main aim is to maintain price stability in the euro area and so preserve the purchasing power of the single currency. We also contribute to the safety and soundness of the banking system, the stability of the financial system and the consistent supervision of banks within the euro area.

The work of the ECB’s research experts provides a strong conceptual and empirical basis for policymaking and better communication of policy to the markets and the public. High-quality research is essential to ensure that our institution is well equipped to cope with the unprecedented challenges associated with conducting a single monetary policy for a group of sovereign countries.

The ECB is continuously looking for talented researchers. As an ECB researcher, you will be actively contributing to decisions that affect the lives of more than 330 million Europeans. Take a look at our current vacancies here.
