The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) was founded in 1993 by the Office of the Commissioner of Banking and Office of the Exchange Fund with the Office in Hong Kong, China. The HKMA is the government authority that provides banking and monetary stability for the economy. HKMA stabilizes Chinese currency, promotes the financial system, and works to maintain the city's status as one of the worlds leading international financial center.
