Founded in 1997, the Indonesian Regional Science Association (IRSA) is one
of the only academic association's in Indonesia that have such large
participations of researchers and scholars. The IRSA was formed to promote
regional scientific efforts, seminars, publications, and conferences. IRSA
currently contributes to development based policies on a national and
local level.Â
