Saint Petersburg State University was established in 1724 as a public
state-owned higher education institute in St. Petersburg, Russia. It is the
oldest university in Russia and is also one of the largest in the country,
with more than 32,400 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in the 22
specialized faculties. Furthermore, Saint Petersburg State University
has been ranked as the second best academic institution in the country, after
Moscow State University.
