Southern Methodist University

Southern Methodist University (SMU) was established in 1911 as a private research university in University Park, Dallas, Texas. SMU was founded by the Methodist Episcopal Church and has enrolled approximately 12,000 students annually.  SMU is structured into seven prestigious schools which focus on disciplines concerning arts, business, education, engineering, humanities, law, and theology. Furthermore, SMU has developed 25 centers and institutes, which have gained national and international recognition for their research efforts and resources.
