University of the Andes

Founded in 1948, University of the Andes is the first private higher education institution in Colombia. Its purpose is to provide high education that helps to close the gap between Colombia and the most advanced scientific knowledge of the world. The University has established a series of agreements with American universities in order to promote studies abroad.  The universitiy fosters pluralism, tolerance and respect for ideas. The University of the Andes  aims to promote excellence while providing awareness of social responsibilities. It is the only Colombian university within the top 274 universities of the world, and the fourth best in Latin America. It has international accreditations of AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA.  It is also home to 121 categorized and ranked research groups. More than 3,706 documents have been published in Scopus between 2001 and 2013. Furthermore, the institution has created 363 international and 72 national agreements to facilitate the mobility of researchers.
