In 1882 the University of the Punjab was established as a public academic
institution in Lahore, Pakistan. It is the largest public institution in the
country and is the second largest, with more than 30,000 Pakistani and
international students enrolled in its 14 faculties. Disciplines concerning
commerce, pharmacy, science, law, education, arts and humanities, and
medicine are highly reputed at the university.
