The United Nations University (UNU) is both a global think tank and
organization offering diverse graduate programs. With headquarters in Japan
and partner programs around the globe, the mission of the UNU is to
contribute to the alleviation of pressing global problems. In order to
achieve this goal, the UNU fosters collaborations on research and education
in the areas of human development and welfare that concern the people and
member states of the United Nations.
The UNU acts as an important bridge between the international academic
community and the United Nations. The UNU places particular focus on capacity
building in the developing world.
