Australian National University (ANU) was established in 1946 as a public
academic university, and an institution of intensive research efforts and
policy engagements. Located in Canberra, it is the home of an interconnected
community of scholars. ANU offers a wide range of programs in the fields of
Business and Economics, Engineering and Science, Law, Medicine and Biology,
Environment, and Physical and Mathematical Sciences.
The aim of the university is to provide excellence in research, education and
public policy. Furthermore, ANU is a member of the International
Alliance of Research Universities, a member of the Association of the Pacific
Rim Universities and the member of the Group of Eight, a coalition between
leading Australian Universities.
