The Graz Schumpeter Centre focusses on research in the field of "Economic and Social Dynamics", combining scientific excellence with economic and socio-political relevance. Systematic use of interdisciplinary approaches fosters international and competitive opportunities for junior researchers. Fundamental issues of research concern the role of innovation with regard to competitiveness and economic progress, functioning of public institutions under conditions of multi-layer governance (from regional to supranational), as well as structural interdependences and their dynamics in the process of globalization.
