Federal University of Minas Gerais

The origins of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) can be traced back to the 19th century, during the time of the Republic in Brazil. With a rich history and a variety of programs, UFMG is located in Belo Horizonte. The university offers 75 undergraduate programs in the fields of medicine, law, economics, engineering, sciences and arts. Furthermore, its wide range of educational and research departments includes 57 doctorate programs, as well as approximately 66 master’s degrees. Currently the UFMG has almost 50,000 students.
